Methodologies and Work Themes
The therapy I frequently offer aims at people who believe they can no
longer "Administrate" their own lives all by themselves, without
a professional support, as well as people who simply find themselves at
present in hard, complex and unhandled situations. Those moments "I've
had enough of this" as people use to say in my homeland. All those
hard times which bring about psychiatric troubles may originate from/
give away in family life, professional, social and school aspects... There
is also the dilemma when facing important decisions, and anxieties due
to changes and hardness in handling our own priorities and time are ordinary
subject in a therapeutic approach. Troubles can manifest themselves as
depression, anxiety disorders, no sense in life sensation, sudden panic
moments, psychological symptoms, professional and school achievements
under expected, sleeping and eating habits disorders
For a therapist, as well as to doctors and priests, it is worth the privacy
rule, which means, nothing the client/patient speaks or does in the therapy
scenario might be released. Even in extremes cases in which the information
is crucial to the patient/client life, this can be conveyed to other professionals
who directly deal with this person or someone else responsible for him/her
under strict permission of the patient/client. It is not the therapist
responsibility to judge the patient under treatment neither his/her attitude,
nor even to find out a solution to his/her problems. The therapist job
is to help the client/patient, taking hand of his acknowledgements on
psychiatric and physical disorders, besides his own professional experience,
find answer and solutions by himself/herself which are best adequate to
his/her life.
My job as a therapist is displayed in two forms: psychological advisory,
a quick way and extremely focused on the problem itself, and as a therapy
as it should be truly considered, which demands much more time. The client/patient
chooses, under my guidance, the form which best applies to his/her situation
at the moment.
The therapy objective should not be decided beforehand. This is a decision
to be taken by the client with the therapist support at the very beginning
of the treatment - but can also as a matter of fact be changed during
the therapeutic process.
